Indoor Greeters

Arrive at church at 9:40 for the 10:00 service to greet people and hand out bulletins. Ask names, introduce yourself, offer Child's Bag to small children. Direct visitors to children's care area, restrooms, elevator, coffee hour, etc.

Marketing/ Communications

Coordinates the communications plan for the church. Coordinates message coordinated in newsletters, bulletins, publications/newspapers, brochures, signs, and web site.

Newsletter

Create and develop the monthly News and Views newsletter. Write articles, format them on the computer, and mail to everyone on our mailing list.

Outdoor Greeters

Provide radical hospitality to all who enter the front and parking lot entrances to the church. Arrive at 9:40 for the 10:00 service. Greet people, hold open the door, assist anyone needing to use the elevator.

Outreach

Reach out to the community to encourage and invite others to visit. Past projects have included the Easter Egg Hunt, Pride Festival, and the Pumpkin Patch. For Christmas day, provided desserts for local police and firefighters.

Website Administration

Update the website by volunteering to take pictures, add content, write stories or articles, update the online calendar and keep the website fresh and user friendly for everyone.

Weddings

Serve as contact for people who are asking about scheduling a wedding at LPUMC. Refer them to the pastor. Update wedding brochure. Considering expanding this ministry to include assisting bridal party prior to and during wedding ceremony.

Welcoming

This team ensures that all visitors feel welcome by scheduling and stationing greeters both outside and inside the church entrances for the 10:00 service. They recruit Fellowship Hosts for refreshments after the 10:00 service. They provide nametags for all members and regular visitors. They also prepare and distribute welcome brochures.
