Board of Trustees

The Trustees are responsible for managing maintenance and capital improvement projects for the church property. Projects are recommended by church ministries or church members.  The Trustees match program, maintenance and new initiatives with allocated and capital program and annual allocation budgets.  Volunteers or contractors are scheduled and coordinated to ensure projects are completed within the defined schedule.  The Trustees interface with other ministries to coordinate usage of the building and assure improvement programs do not interfere with other scheduled functions.

Church Council Chair

The Church Council is charged with the planning and implementation of programs for nurture, outreach, witness and resources at LPUMC.

Cindy Pillow

Church Council Secretary

Record minutes for meetings, provide transcripts from previous meetings.  In addition, as a member of  Church Council, the secretary is invited to attend any/all committee meetings especially as they might relate to council business. 

Sue Meyers

District Member at Large

Represents the church membership at district events, drawing from this experience to guide the direction of the church council.  Events include workshops for lay members, special breakfast and luncheon meetings throughout the year.

Financial Secretary

Record all funds received by the church. Report to the Treasurer, and assist in procedures for handling the funds. Keep individual contributor records. Send out quarterly statements to contributors. Assist the counters in doing their job.

Maria Lawrence

Historian

Archives and maintains historical church documents.

Tom Keay

Lay Leader

The Lay Leadership Ministry is responsible for identifying, developing, deploying, evaluating and monitoring the Christian spiritual leadership at LPUMC. The Lay Leader and the Senior Pastor also serve as the co-chairs of the Nominations Ministry.

Richard Eaton

Lay Member to Annual Conference

Participates in the Annual Conference sessions and votes on all matters except those pertaining to ministerial relations. Reports to the congregation in the week following the conference session and to the Church Council at its netxt meeting after the close of the conference session.

Jon Copeland

Nominations

This team selects and recruits members for the Parish Relations, Board of Trustees, Finance, Worship, Nominations, and any new ministries that are created.

Rev Kathleen Wilder & Richard Eaton

Preschool Liaison

Represents the church membership at preschool board meetings.

Cindy Pillow

Staff/Parish Relations

This is the Human Resources team for the church. They create job descriptions and interview, hire or terminate paid staff. They prepare the annual evaluations, making recommendations for retention or replacement of pastoral staff. They review annual compensation packages for paid staff. 

Nance Thuer 

Treasurer

Work with the Financial Secretary and the Finance Chair to handle church finances.
